About venue

The Grote Kerk is a historic Protestant church in Breda. Built in the Brabantine Gothic style with origins dating back to the 13th century, it is one of the city’s most important landmarks. Famous for its tall tower, rich history, beautiful interior, medieval murals, and the Nassau family mausoleum, the church stands as a cultural monument and a vibrant place for art, culture and community.

Accessibility

The Grote Kerk Breda is largely wheelchair accessible (the floor partly consists of old gravestones and can be uneven); the Prinsenkapel and the church tower are not wheelchair accessible. There is a wheelchair-accessible toilet, companions/carers enter free of charge (including for paid activities) and assistance (guide) dogs are welcome. For blind and partially sighted visitors there is a tactile display with touch objects and multisensory guided tours are offered.
