An acclaimed programme celebrating the enchanting melodies from the anime films of world-renowned Japanese director and Academy Award winner Hayao Miyazaki comes to Biel/Bienne for the first time. Inspired by Miyazaki’s singular artistic vision, the concert will be performed by Horizons Ensemble at the Pasquart Church, a striking historic landmark, perched gracefully above the city.
Hayao Miyazaki’s Dreams brings together iconic compositions by the brilliant composer Joe Hisaishi, including music from My Neighbour Totoro, Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, and Laputa: Castle in the Sky. The programme is further enriched by selected works from other composers who have drawn inspiration from Miyazaki’s fantastical visual storytelling.
These musical themes transport the audience into the spellbinding world of beloved anime tales inhabited by courageous heroines, mysterious spirits, and characters deeply rooted in Japanese folklore.
The concert is organised by the creative agency RED EVENTS & Distribution Ltd., known for producing exceptional cultural experiences in historic mansions, on rooftops, in greenhouses, and in some of the most atmospheric venues across Europe, the United Kingdom, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and beyond. Their repertoire also includes a distinctive collection of candlelit concerts and fully immersive performances combining video art and sound.
