Lorenzo Fuoco – violin
Lorenzo Fuoco was born in Florence in 1972. He graduated with distinction in violin from the “L. Cherubini” Conservatory in Florence in 1994, and later completed advanced studies in Lugano, Switzerland, where he obtained a postgraduate diploma in 1996. He refined his musical training under the guidance of prominent musicians including C. Chiarappa, O. Dantone, F. Rossi, G. Franzetti and E. Porta.
Since 1998, he has been a permanent member of the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, where he serves as concertmaster of the first violins. His extensive work within the Florentine theatre, particularly under the musical direction of Zubin Mehta, has given him profound experience in the operatic and symphonic repertoire. Over the years, he has collaborated with some of the most distinguished conductors of our time, including Georges Prêtre, Seiji Ozawa, Riccardo Muti, Claudio Abbado, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Kirill Petrenko and Daniele Gatti.
Since 2005, he has also worked regularly as guest concertmaster with leading orchestras in Italy and abroad, such as the Arturo Toscanini Orchestra in Parma, the Filarmonica del Teatro Regio di Torino, the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, Teatro Verdi in Trieste, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, as well as Musique des Lumières (Neuchâtel) and the Sinfonie Orchester Biel Solothurn.
Between 2004 and 2012, he was concertmaster of the OperaFestival Orchestra of Tuscany, also performing as a soloist and serving as artistic coordinator. He performs internationally as a solo violinist across Europe and Asia.
He is currently principal concertmaster of I Cameristi, the chamber orchestra of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
He plays a Matteo Goffriller violin (Venice, 1730).
