On 30 May, we held our first concert in Kilkenny, bringing The Music of The Lord of The Rings. Tribute to Howard Shore to the atmospheric St Canice Cathedral.
For this debut evening, we chose one of our most beloved programmes — a musical journey into Tolkien’s universe, where the road begins in the Shire and leads through ancient forests, elven realms, shadowed lands and places where courage is tested quietly before it becomes legend.
St Canice Cathedral gave the evening its own magic. The space held the music like an old story: every familiar motif seemed to travel higher, every silence felt a little wider, and the atmosphere brought the audience closer to the emotional heart of Middle-earth.
The first concert in Kilkenny became a memorable opening chapter. The Music of The Lord of The Rings arrived in the city with warmth, mystery and the quiet certainty that some journeys are meant to begin under cathedral arches.
