This musical journey explores courage, loyalty, sacrifice and destiny in the beloved film saga inspired by the novels of J.K. Rowling.
Performed by Ensemble Sinfonietta Bern at the elegant Salle Paderewski in Lausanne’s Casino de Montbenon, the programme explores the more intense and cinematic chapters of the Harry Potter saga. From the mysterious energy of Double Trouble to the determination of Dumbledore’s Army, the emotion of Dumbledore’s Farewell, the haunting beauty of Lily’s Theme and the epic atmosphere of Statues, the concert follows the journey from innocence to courage, from shadow to final confrontation.
The music of the Harry Potter films was shaped by several major film composers. John Williams created the saga’s most iconic themes, while Patrick Doyle, Nicholas Hooper and Alexandre Desplat expanded its musical universe in the later films, adding new emotional colours, darker textures and a more dramatic sense of destiny. Together, their scores accompany the transformation of the story from childhood wonder to courage, loss and final resolution.
