John Lennon & Paul McCartney

John Lennon (1940–1980) and Paul McCartney (b. 1942) formed the greatest songwriting partnership in popular music. As the creative engine of The Beatles they wrote Yesterday, Hey Jude, Let It Be, A Day in the Life — nearly two hundred songs that reshaped what a song could be.

Their gift for melody, harmony and form has made the Lennon–McCartney songbook a modern classical repertoire in its own right, endlessly rediscovered by orchestras, quartets and choirs around the world.
