Johann Sebastian Bach
Johann Sebastian Bach is the foundation of Western classical music. Hear his timeless works performed live.
Johann Sebastian Bach (1685–1750), the supreme master of the Baroque, wrote music of unrivalled depth, craft and beauty. The Brandenburg Concertos, the meditative "Air on the G String", the Cello Suites, the Mass in B minor and the Well-Tempered Clavier form the bedrock on which later composers built. A devout organist and prolific genius, Bach united mathematical perfection with profound feeling. Performed live, the clarity and grandeur of his counterpoint are revelatory.
