Yann Tiersen
French composer Yann Tiersen wrote the enchanting music of Amélie. Hear his pieces performed live.
Born in 1970, Yann Tiersen became internationally beloved for the Amélie soundtrack — accordion, toy piano, music box and melancholy waltzes that capture the romance of Paris. Far more than a film composer, the Breton musician has built an experimental, ever-evolving body of work rooted in the landscape of his island home, Ushant. His pieces are whimsical, nostalgic and instantly evocative. Performed live, Tiersen's miniatures bloom into something larger.
