Carter Burwell

Carter Burwell

Carter Burwell is the quietly brilliant composer of the Coen Brothers' films and the Twilight saga. Hear his music performed live.

Born in 1954, Carter Burwell has scored nearly every Coen Brothers film — Fargo, No Country for Old Men, True Grit — alongside Twilight (and its famous "Bella's Lullaby"), Carol and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, earning Academy Award nominations. His writing is understated and atmospheric, favouring mood over spectacle. Performed live, Burwell's themes reveal a delicate, emotional core beneath their restraint.
