Danny Elfman
Danny Elfman is the gothic, playful imagination behind Tim Burton's films — and The Simpsons theme. Hear his music performed live.
Born in 1953, Danny Elfman rose to fame fronting the band Oingo Boingo before becoming Tim Burton's signature composer, scoring Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice and The Nightmare Before Christmas — for which he also sang the lead role. His music blends carnival mischief, dark romance and childlike wonder, with choirs, celesta and waltzing strings. He also wrote the iconic Simpsons theme. Performed live, Elfman's gothic-fairytale sound is theatrical and unforgettable.
