On 15 June, we celebrate the birthday of Studio Ghibli — the Japanese animation studio founded in 1985 and loved across the world for stories where childhood, nature, courage and wonder meet.
For Red Events, this date has a special sound. Through our Hayao Miyazaki’s Dreams concerts, we bring the music connected with Ghibli’s universe to live audiences — from My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away to Howl’s Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, Kiki’s Delivery Service and Laputa: Castle in the Sky.
At the heart of these evenings is the music of Joe Hisaishi: melodies that do not simply accompany the films, but give them breath, light and emotional depth. In concert, they become something shared — a moment where different generations return to the same stories, not through a screen, but through live sound.
Happy birthday, Studio Ghibli — thank you for worlds where trains cross flooded landscapes, castles walk, forests listen, and music remembers everything.
