St Mary's Church, Brighton
Situated in the Kemptown district of Brighton, within the city of Brighton and Hove, St. Mary's Church stands as an emblem of Anglican heritage. The current edifice, crafted in the late 1870s, emerged from the ashes of its predecessor, a church with the same appellation that suffered an abrupt collapse during its renovation. The architectural character of this Gothic-style marvel is a blend of Early English revival and French Gothic revival, represented by its resplendent red-brick exterior
There is completely step-free access from the pavement via the west entrance on St James's Street, and a stair lift gives wheelchair and mobility-scooter users access into the body of the church. An accessible toilet is available in the church hall next door, which also has step-free access. There is currently no induction loop, though the church hopes to install one; as this is a historic building with some uneven flooring, please take care, and you are welcome to contact the church on 01273 698601 to discuss access.
