Following a previous sell-out performance, this best-selling concert from Mystery Ensemble returns to Manchester.

The Miyazaki Dreams concert is an immersion in the fabulous atmosphere of the films of the world-famous Japanese director and Oscar winner Hayao Miyazaki. Mystery Ensemble has collected magical music from his anime and compositions inspired by his creations.

The evening programme includes renowned works composed by ingenious Joe Hisaishi, including My Neighbor Totoro, the legendary anime Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, Laputa: Castle in the Sky and others. The programme also includes works by other composers inspired by Miyazaki’s artworks.

Musical themes will take viewers into famous anime stories’ atmosphere and introduce brave heroines, magical creatures and characters inspired by Japanese folklore.

About the venue

The Stoller Hall is a beautiful and modern concert hall, designed by Stephenson Studio with acoustics by Arup. It has been engineered to provide a unique immersive experience. Designed as a box within a box, the performance space has very low noise levels and a variable acoustic system, meaning audiences can truly hear and feel the music. There are regular performances by Chetham’s School of Music students – regular free lunchtime concerts are open to all, giving you the chance to witness some of the most talented young musicians in the UK. There’s also a programme for professional touring artists that embraces classical and contemporary music, comedy and spoken word. There’s something for everyone at The Stoller Hall. Get closer to the sounds you love in a unique setting or discover something new.

This concert is part of a series of immersive musical experiences created by Red Events & Distribution Ltd., known for their exceptional cultural events in historic mansions, on scenic rooftops, in botanical greenhouses, and other atmospheric venues across the UK, Europe, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and beyond. Their repertoire includes candlelit concerts and fully immersive performances with video art and spatial sound design.
