Jacqueline du Pré Music Building
The Jacqueline du Pré Music Building (JdP) is a luxurious and intimate music venue that was specially designed for chamber music performances, and created as a tribute to the legendary cellist, Jacqueline du Pré. Nestled within the serene grounds of St Hilda’s College, Oxford, and bordered by the picturesque River Cherwell, the JdP is a contemporary masterpiece. St Hilda's College is devoted to preserving and advancing the JdP Music Building as a haven for the exploration, instruction, presentation, and enjoyment of music in all its forms, for all individuals, regardless of their background or age. It is the first purpose-built concert hall to be built in Oxford since the Holywell Music Room in 1742.
The Jacqueline du Pré Music Building has step-free access via the main entrance, and the ground-floor stalls have flexible seating so space can be made for wheelchair users. There is an accessible toilet off the main foyer, and a hearing loop is available if you let the Box Office know in advance. Please note the Gallery is reached by stairs with no lift, and there is no parking at St Hilda's College. To arrange access, contact the Box Office on 01865 244806, the JdP on 01865 286668 / events@st-hildas.ox.ac.uk, or RED EVENTS.
