On 29 and 30 May, we brought The Music of The Lord of The Rings. Tribute to Howard Shore to Richmond and Chichester for the first time, opening two new chapters for one of our most beloved programmes.
The journey began at St Mary’s Church in Richmond, where the intimate atmosphere of the venue brought the music close to the audience. The following evening, the programme continued at the majestic Chichester Cathedral, giving Howard Shore’s score a wider, more monumental space to unfold.
These first concerts in Richmond and Chichester showed once again why Howard Shore’s score continues to resonate so deeply. It is music of friendship, danger, longing and return — music that reminds us that even the smallest step can begin an epic journey.
